The pups are now ten weeks old. They have stopped wetting their bed at night but may in the excitement of getting out in the morning. They love going outside. We had a heavy rain and they spend time on the back porch corralled with two big dog beds. When they got tired six got in one bed and three in the other. They are developing distinct personalities.

Pup one wants to be picked up

Pup one is now 20.5 pounds. He can look so funny with the white up either side of his nose and then look just miserable. Here it looks like he will just die if I don’t pick him up.

Pup two watching the gate

Pup two is now 23.1 pounds. He was standing at the gate with the rest but decided to back off and watch. He is generally a sweet fellow but likes to fight with his siblings.

Happy Celina at the gate

Celina is now 21 pounds. She is a happy girl and will shower you with kisses but don’t try to hold her too long. She is raring to go.

Pup four reaching for attention

Pup four is now 23.7 pounds. He is very affectionate. Here he seems to be reaching out for attention. When the rain ended he managed to slip out of their confinement on the porch and went exploring in the dark.

Pup five at the gate

Pup five is now 23.2 pounds. He is the most laid back of the litter but that doesn’t mean he isn’t right in there when they fight. He is a very good looking puppy.

Merry Celeste wants attention

Celeste is now 20.4 pounds. She is quite the character. She will love on you and seem all sweetness. However put down something special to eat and she tries to run everyone off.

Pup seven wants out

Pup seven is now 26.8 pounds. He is still the biggest but he doesn’t throw his weight around. He likes attention but can’t seem to hold still.

Sunny Cheyenne wants attention.

Cheyenne is now 21.1 pounds. She is the most serious of the girls. She likes attention and will just melt in your arms when she is tired. Otherwise she is going flat out.

Happy little Dame Clara

Clara at 16.9 pounds is still the smallest. It is beginning to look like she will always be small. That is not a problem and she should show well if she can be convinced to cooperate.

Six pups in one adult bed box

During a heavy rain the pups were corralled on the porch in an area with two of the big dogs bed boxes. When they finally got tired six of them went to bed in one box.

Pup one is now 17.2 pounds. He is now heavier than the girls. He was stung by something on May 3rd and had to go to the vet but he has quickly recovered and is back to normal.

Pup two is now 18.5 pounds. He really loves attention and can be demanding if ignored. He generally has a sad expression that belies his true feelings.

Pup four is now 19.4 pounds. He loves to follow his nose. He put on a brave front when getting his shots then suddenly panicked when the vet checked his tummy. He had to be cuddled to calm down or maybe that was his intent.

Clara is still the smallest at 13.8 pounds but that doesn’t stop her from getting into trouble. She climbs out of the whelping box at night to potty. Then she roams around the house with big sis Blessing following.

The pups are eight weeks old now. They were allowed out in the main yard for the first time. They had a ball and managed to cover most of the 3/4 acre at a dead run. They got their first swimming this weekend. We have a shallow 50 gallon tank that we filled half full and put the pups in. The water only came to their tummies. After the first shock they took a drink and then climbed out. They also had their first experience on a leash walking and coming. They are getting better about not wetting their bed but accidents still happen. When one has to go they all do and we can’t get all nine out before someone has a mishap.

Pup one peeking through the leaves

Pup one has shot up to 14.3 pounds. He gained more than anyone else. Here is peeking through the leaves on a low limb. He wasn’t satisfied with peeking and quickly attacked he leaves hanging in his face.

Pup two sitting pretty

Pup two is now 16.2 pounds. He can be a real go getter and the next he is a cuddle bunny. He generally has a very serious look that belies his true nature. He lets us know when he wants out.

Pup four is now 15.8 pounds. He is the inquisitive one. He has to check everything out. Here he has a bunch of leaves that blew by. He found a bunch of moss that blew off the tree and carried it around. He was a bit willful on leash.

Pup five in the wading tank

Pup five is now 16.1 pounds. He is right at home in the water. He climbed right out when we first put him in but latter he came back and climbed in himself. He has had two baths and seemed to like them.

Cheyenne taking a breather

Cheyenne is now 14.5 pounds. She really enjoyed the main yard. She raced around until she wore herself out. Here she is taking a breather before starting again. She likes drinking out of running water and didn’t mind the tank too much.

Clara looking sweet for the camera

Clara while she doesn’t look it is still the smallest by two pounds as she weighs only 11.8. She holds her own with her siblings in spite of looking so sweet. She has lovely long ears and a very alert face. She will only let you hold her for a minute before she wants down.

The pups are seven weeks old and spending most of their time out side. They had their first experience with collars over the weekend. There was no problems with wearing a collar but they did like to pull on the other collars. They also got their first cookies. That was a real treat. They played with their Skinneeez beaver and rabbit until they were exhausted. While they are a long way from being house trained they have learned not to potty in their box. One even climbed over the side to potty when they were left in their box for three hours. What is surprising is he/she climbed back into the box. They have just discovered that they can bark and take great pleasure in it.

Pup one is tired from playing

Pup one is 10.9 pounds. He and his sibling spent some time playing with their rabbit toy and he is exhausted. After a brief nap he was ready to go again. He is independent and usually the last one in or out.

Pup two is 13 pounds. He was sleeping when he wound up with their yogurt cup on his head like a hat. He didn’t mind wearing a collar and didn’t give the others too much grief about theirs. He really liked the cookies and took his off to savor.

Celina is enjoying a cookie

Hunter’s Dynamic Celina is 11.3 pounds. She is a real dynamo most of the time but when she wants to cuddle she is very affectionate. Here she is enjoying a cookie. She got stuck under the dog house and hollered for help. We had to lift the house and pull her out.

Pup four wants out

Pup four is 13.1 pounds. He is a live wire and into everything. He wants attention and then wants to fight. Here he is trying to get out of the whelping box and being rather vocal about it.

Pup five in a collar for the first time

Pup five is 13 pounds. He readily took to wearing a collar. However he saw the leash as something to play tug o war with. Especially when it was attached to someone else. He has a lovely face and very nice ears.

Celeste playing with a yogurt cup

Hunter’s Merry Celeste is a 11.4 pounds. She is a bit of a handful. When she wants attention she demands it. She loves to play and was enjoying the empty yogurt cup. She had a ball with the rabbit toy as six of them played tug o war with it.

Pup seven wants out

Pup seven at 14.2 is the largest. He can be very sweet and gives you a big eyed stare when he wants attention. He gets right into what ever is going on. He was the last one holding the rabbit toy but gave it to me without a fight.

Cheyenne sees the camera

Hunter’s Sunny Cheyenne is 11.6 pounds. Her ears were a bit slow to develop but now hang nicely to her nose. She likes to cuddle if no one is looking but if the others see she has to get down an prove she is equal to any of them.

Clara "You looking at me"

Hunter’s Dame Clara is still the smallest at 9.4 pounds. She has become such a fireball that we jokingly call her demon Clara. I think she tries so hard because she is so much smaller. Here she seems to be saying “You looking at me”. She can be sweet but prefers to go, go, go.

The pups are six weeks old and had their first shots on the 18th. On Saturday they went into the puppy pen for the first time. The pen is 30 feet by 40 feet. They had a blast running all over the place exploring everything. They prefer staying out in the puppy pen and even stayed under the dog house when it rained.

Pup one looking at camera

Pup one is up to 8.8 pounds, a whole pound more than his little sister. Here he is looking up at the camera with a mournful expression. He is outgoing most of the time and doesn’t want to be held. When he is tired he likes to cuddle.

Pup two looking at camera

Pup two is the second largest at 10.7 pounds. He is a sweet fellow and likes attention. He can hold his own with his siblings. When put on the ground with his older siblings and aunts he seemed right at home.

Pup three "Here I come"

Pup 3 is now Hunter’s Dynamic Celina and is now 9.3 pounds. She is a real go getter. She fights with her bigger brothers and explores everything. She likes to cuddle but only for a few minutes and then she is off again.

Pup four tracking

Pup four is now 10.3 pounds. He has a very pretty face right now but it will change as he grows. He is inquisitive and uses his nose to check things out. He likes being held just don’t do it too long.

Pup five looking at camera

Pup five is also 10.3 pounds. He has a very expressive face and demands to be held. When not being held he runs around with the best of them and holds his own in fights. This morning he cried to be taken out to potty.

Pup six - Celeste "I can do it"

Celeste loves exploring the puppy pen. She raced around checking everything out. The dog house is raised off the ground to allow circulation and she didn’t hesitate trying to climb up the floor.

Pup seven watching

Pup seven is is still the heaviest at 11.3 pounds. He is a happy fellow and quick to start a wrestling match. Because he is the biggest the others tend to gang up on him. That doesn’t deter him and he is right back in the fray.

Pup eight chewing a tree sprout

Pup 8 is now Hunter’s Sunny Cheyenne and weighs 9.0 pounds. She eagerly ran around exploring the puppy pen and found this twig growing out of a root. She was determined to chew it down. She likes attention but is always ready to go.

Pup nine - Clara gets the sock

Clara is now 7.7 pounds and still the smallest. She started out a lady but has become a very feisty little girl. She holds her own in wrestling matches and take pleasure in getting her brothers down. She was determined to get the sock hanging from their rest box.

The pups are five weeks old and growing fast. They are spending more time out side and are playing with a variety of toys. They have begun exploring their world and will follow us when we call them. They don’t have to be called twice when it comes to meals.

Pup one week five

Pup one has gained on his littlest sister so is no longer the smallest. He weighs six pounds now. He is very active and will tackle his larger siblings. He was eager to explore when we took him out of their exercise pen.

Pup two has lost his place as the largest but not by much. He weighs eight pounds now. He still hogs the food dish and spreads his paws out across the middle so the others can’t get at the food. He is not as eager to explore.

Pup three week five

Pup eight five weeks

Pup eight is still the largest female at 6.8 pounds. She is always ready to wrestle with her siblings and readily explored when taken out of the exercise pen.

Hunter's Dame Clara five weeks

Clara is now the smallest at 5.6 pounds though she looks heavier than pup one. She will follow us if we move slowly and keep calling her but she would rather explore. She took great pleasure in pulling on my shoe laces.

The pups are four weeks old now and you can’t have babies in Texas with out pictures in bluebonnets. They go outside regularly and have their meals outside weather permitting. They are running and playing with their sock toys. Mom has decided it is time to wean them so they are getting three meals a day. They haven’t given up on mom and stand to nurse when ever she comes near.

The pups are three weeks old now. This week has been a week of firsts. On Saturday they received their first solid food. This went over well and they readily took to their second feeding. However it was a lot messier than the first one and as a result they got their first bath. On Sunday they went outside for the first time. They enjoyed sleeping in the fresh air.

While pup one is still smaller than the other males he is growing steadily. He is now up to 2.4 pounds. He is lively and stands up to the bigger pups. As you can see he really got into his second solid food.

Pup two is the only liver male and the largest of the pups. He is now 3.1 pounds. His tendency to hog the choice nursing spot seems to have carried over to the solid food. While he got a lot on him, he also got a lot in him.

Pup three is the only black female. She appears to be giving the camera a raspberry but she probably can’t see as far as the camera yet. She is now 2.7 pounds.

Pup four gets around pretty good. He found the entrance to the whelping box and tried to climb out. There is now a another board in the door. He is now 3.0 pounds.

Pup five really got into his second solid food in more ways than one. Here he is getting his first bath. He didn’t object but wasn’t happy about it either. He is now 2.9 pounds.

Pup six is very photogenic. Here she looks like a diva posing for her picture. She is already play fighting with her siblings. She is now 2.6 pounds.

Pup seven while not the biggest is generally the first and last to eat. He took to solid food right off and even though it looks like he took a header into the dish he ate more than his share. He is now 2.9 pounds.

Pup eight is the largest female. She looks like she is wearing as much solid food as she ate but her tummy says she ate plenty. She is now 2.9 pounds.

Pup nine is still the smallest female but not for lack of trying. When they got their first solid food she waded right through the middle of the bowl. She was so full she almost couldn’t get over the edge of the bowl. She is now 2.4 pounds.

The pups are two weeks old. Their eyes are opening and they have begun taking their first wobbly steps. When mom enters the puppy box they scurry around trying to find her and crying for food. They have begun their socialization and are less frantic when being held.

Puppy One

Puppy one is the smallest male even though he was first born. He spends a lot of time nursing like he is trying to catch up. He is very lively and didn’t want to hold still for his picture. He now weighs 1.6 pounds.

Puppy Two

Puppy two is one of the largest males. He tends to get the choice spot for nursing. He enjoyed sleeping on Allen’s chest but can be very energetic especially when looking for mom. He now weighs 2.1 pounds.

Puppy Three

Puppy three is working hard at walking even though she falls a lot she still keeps going. She was obviously enjoying having her little ear scratched. She now weighs 1.9 pounds.

Puppy Four

Puppy four is the first brown male. He likes sleeping in odd positions such as wrapped around mom’s back. He wobbles around and over his siblings. He now weighs 1.9 pounds.

Puppy Five

Puppy five is the second black male. He likes his food and bulls his way in when its time to nurse. He wobbles around with the others but really seems to enjoy sleeping with Allen. He now weighs 2.0 pounds.

Puppy Six

Puppy six is the brown and tan female. She is getting on her feet and using her siblings to steady her. She seems to really enjoy having her chin scratched. She now weighs 1.9 pounds.

Puppy Seven

Puppy seven is the second brown male. He has a white blaze on his face that distinguishes him from his brother. He is one of the biggest pups. He now weighs 2.1 pounds.

Puppy Eight

Puppy eight is the first liver female. She likes nursing and will force her way in. She seems to like having her ear scratched but it didn’t keep her awake. She is now 2.1 pounds.

Puppy Nine

Puppy nine is doing great after her rough start. While she is still the smallest female she worms her way in and often nurses upside down. She does a lot of wobbling around. She is now up to 1.6 pounds.
